The Architect’s Bag
The Royal Atlas began as a personal proposition: what would an architect carry if the bag were designed with the same discipline as a building?
Conceived by Ar. Royal Pineda in collaboration with FINO Leatherware, the Royal Atlas was envisioned as an everyday companion, moving from site to studio, from city streets to distant terminals, with structure, intention, and restraint. Every proportion is considered. Every detail is purposeful. It is designed to soften with time, to evolve with use, and to remain grounded in identity.
At the heart of the bag is the Royal Weave. Its origins trace back to pre-colonial Filipino weaving traditions, particularly the Pasiking of the Cordilleras, an indigenous carrier made of rattan, nito, and bamboo, shaped for mobility across mountainous terrain. Rather than replicate existing leather patterns, the weave was reinterpreted through individually punched full-grain leather, allowing strips to be threaded diagonally to create depth, breathability, and dimension.
The result is both tactile and architectural.
The Royal Atlas stands as a reflection of the Modern Filipino, rooted in heritage, shaped by craft, and designed for movement.
