The Philippines Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai stands as a living narrative, where architecture carries the 4,000-year journey of the Filipino people. Its form flows like the sea, undulating and unbound, embodying the rhythm of a nation shaped by time and tide.
Bangkóta is envisioned as a living coral reef, alive with people, activities, and the creative pulse of Filipino artists. Their installations fill the space with stories that resonate with the journey and spirit of a people who have thrived across centuries and oceans.
With 1,268 square meters of open grounds, 385 square meters of winding pathways, and 676 square meters of landscapes, the pavilion is embraced by a fluid exoskeleton of see-through mesh. This delicate skin offers shelter from the shifting sun while keeping the spirit of openness, allowing light, movement, and meaning to flow freely within.
